                         FACTORY WARRANTY
                 (AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND)

New Mercury, Mariner and MerCruiser engines distributed through Marine Power International P/L (trading as Mercury Marine) are eligible for factory warranty*.  These  warranties do not apply to products which have been imported by an importer which is not factory authorized**, as outlined in the following:

Engines Eligible For Factory Warranty

Factory warranty will apply to Mercury/Mariner/MerCruiser products imported and distributed by Marine Power International and sold through authorised Mercury/Mariner/MerCruiser dealers.

The engine must be warranty registered with Marine Power International and a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) completed by the authorised dealer to be eligible for warranty.

Mercury/Mariner/MerCruiser products imported on boats through authorised importers may also be eligible provided the engines are listed on the Marine Power International serial number register. 

Contact your authorised Mercury/Mariner/MerCruiser dealer if you have any questions or concerns about the engine's warranty eligibility. 

Engines Not Eligible for Factory Warranty

Imported Privately or Purchased from Third Party Importers:
Factory warranty coverage is not available for engines imported privately or purchased from third party importers***.

Warranty coverage is available only to retail customers who purchase from a dealer authorised by Marine Power International and related companies to distribute the product in the country in which the sale occurred

Engines Not Purchased From Authorised Mercury/Mariner/MerCruiser Dealers:
Factory warranty will not apply to engines purchased on-line, through auctions or from sellers who are not authorised by Marine Power International.

** Statutory warranties may, however, apply.  This notice is not intended to limit or affect the purchaser's rights and remedies under the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Australian purchasers) or the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (New Zealand purchasers) or any other legislation.
*** The term "Third Party" importer refers to boat & engine brokers who are not factory authorised distributors and who import products from overseas dealers.  Third Party imports are also referred to as "Grey Market" or "Parallel" imports
